Fixing a Microphone Problem in Skype

Submitted by D2D on Fri, 06/14/2019 - 12:10

A customer has called several times complaining that the person at the other end of a Skype call can't hear him.  The problem is that his microphone gets set to the default setting.  This is how to correct the problem.

In Skype:

  1. Click the “…” icon at the top of the page.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Audio and Video.
  4. Click the downward facing “>” to the right of Microphone.
    1. It will be to the right of the current microphone selection.
  5. Select Microphone (Realtek Audio).
    1. Substitute a microphone that you know is connected and functioning at this step.
